Find Out More about PAR Church Builders
#

After completing a needs analysis and overall budget you will be ready to design your new worship facilities. During the design process your church’s needs are translated into a viable solution that can be communicated to your congregation and, ultimately, to your construction team.

The Design/Build Process
The design/build process partners the builder, design team (architect, engineer), and the owner all under one contract from the very beginning of the project. This cooperative team effort reduces misunderstandings and prevents adversarial relationships from occurring.

How does this work?
Specifically, design/build focuses on combining the design, permit, and construction phases in order to streamline the traditional design/bid/build process. A design/build firm strives to bring together design and construction professionals in a collaborative environment to produce the most cost-effective design and to simultaneously complete their tasks.

Value-Engineering
Typically, for a contractor to bid on a project, precise details relating to the construction methods and materials must be provided to avoid ambiguity and to facilitate an “apples-to-apples” comparison of bids. With design/build, the owner, the design team and the design/builder work together to determine what methods and materials will maximize the owner’s value.

  • Knowing the importance of timelines and how they affect your bottom line.
  • Single Source Accountability
Rather than hiring several contractors and consultants, with PAR’s design/build process a church has just one entity to deal with. Design revisions, budgeting, permitting, jobsite issues, construction questions, change orders, and billing can all be routed through one source. Additionally, the design/build process steers projects away from the “finger-pointing” that is often commonplace in construction projects, and allows the church to turn to one entity with questions or concerns.
  • Effective Communication
PAR will keep your church completely informed at each step of the process and provide weekly updates of work that has been completed.
  • Site Safety
Construction sites can be very dangerous. In the US there are typically over 1,000 construction related fatalities a year. PAR is compliant with all OSHA safety regulations.
  • Avoiding Liabilities
Buildings are subject to many different risks while under construction. They may catch fire, be damaged by high winds, or fall victim to other forces such as theft or vandalism. In many cases the church itself is responsible for these liabilities, instead of the contractor. PAR makes sure your liabilities are limited by helping your church obtain a builders risk insurance policy incase such an event happens.
